SpaceX announced Starbase Louisiana on Aug. 25, 2026: a launch site near Pecan Island in Vermilion Parish with five launch complexes of two pads each. LED lists the investment at more than $100 billion and 3,000 direct jobs over 10 years, with construction starting by the end of 2027 and a first launch targeted for 2029.
