Senate Bill 163 passed the Senate 35-0 and the House 97-0, and the Senate concurred 38-0. It became law without the governor's signature on June 24, 2026, as Act 923, effective Aug. 1, 2026.
What it does
Repeals the July 1, 2027, sunset on the Virtual Currency Businesses Act, making state licensing of crypto businesses permanent. Adds that if a federal licensing law preempts part of the VCBA, conflicting state provisions are void to the extent of the conflict.
