Act 773 of 2024 adopted Uniform Commercial Code Article 12, "Controllable Electronic Records," as Chapter 12 of Title 10 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes. It was signed June 26, 2024, and took effect Aug. 1, 2024. Article 12 sets rules for who holds rights in controllable electronic records, a category that includes many digital assets, when they are transferred or used as collateral.
